I have an iphone and love it as well, and I agree with you on the cases! They are outrageous, I just started not using a case at all. You have to be a little more careful with it, not to drop it, but I've already gone though 3 cases, I'm not about to buy another one. As for the finger prints, there is a film you can put on the screen to help, it won't do anything for the back of the device though.
