Yup, it’s been over a week since I’ve last written; I haven’t much been in the spirit to write lately let me give you a run down of what’s been happening lately.
Last weekend, Columbus Day weekend my aunt, uncle, and cousin came up for the weekend. We had lots of fun mostly just reminiscing during the day and playing poker at night. They came in Saturday, I made Eggplant Parmesan. Sunday mom made Turkey with all the fixings, sort of an early Thanksgiving dinner since we’re always apart for the holidays. On Monday they went home. 
This past week hasn’t been very eventful just doing web site maintaince and answering my normal email load.
On this Saturday I spent most of the day and evening reinstalling Vista on both my laptop and desktop, no reason in particular just wanted fresh installs. With all the patching and a rebooting it took several hours. On the laptop I “got smart” and just download SP1 from MS download center which applied all the incremental patches. Backing up all my files is 200% better with an external hard drive burning several DVDs is for the dogs. This the first time I’ve done a complete format and reinstall since getting my little external HD
Today I spent a lot of time with pictures. Sorting through my desktop backgrounds to see which were big enough for my big screen; the ones that weren’t I deleted. I have a bad habit of just throwing the pictures in a folder without renaming them so I found Irfanview which supports both batch rename and resize. The backgrounds I had that were close to my resolution I just re sized to my resolution keeping the aspect ratio. It was pretty easy to rename and re size everything. Since I deleted a bunch of them I had to go searching for some of my favorite girls, I found some nice pictures of Vida Guerra, Halle Berry, Jessica Alba and the like. 
Keeping in the style with renaming my backgrounds I decided to go through all my pictures most of which are separated in folders and the files are named from my digital camera which looks something like this DSCF####.jpg, so I bulk renamed each picture to correspond with what ever event they were from.
Tomorrow, I have to wake up really early as Mom has to go down to Suffern, about an hour and half away for a some tests on her heart. If all goes well she’ll be coming home with us tomorrow evening, if not she will have to stay over night. So keep Mom in your prayers, please. 
I’m off it bed it’s nearly 8 o’clock, 4 AM comes early.
