I have over a hundred domain names... and slowly have been changing the dns on most of them to point to Hostgator where I moved most of my sites. My 1and1 hosting was going down far too often. I started tracking it with pingdom and reported the findings to 1and 1. They gave me the royal run around. Then, finally when my sites went down and I called them. They said... 'oh, the server is rebooting'. I said "I know, I've been complaining about this for 2 months'. So then they moved all my sites to a new server without telling me which resulting in all of my sites being down for a full day... ALL DAY... instead of telling me in advance that they were going to do. I would have had them do it over night. Unfortunately, I have too many domains to easily transfer, but at least changing the dns works without any hitches so I can host the sites on hostgator.

The problem with 1and1 is technology. Theirs sucks. Don't go with 1 and 1.

Hi Thoran,

Once you login to Facebook you can disable the text message security. It's just an extra (optional) level of security.

Hi Dan,
I have been logging many miles to borrow a phone that receives text so i can log on. Is there a way to avoid the security text step if you already have no login approval? Seems like facebook is picking on poor people by demanding that they have a phone that receives text. Facebook does claim that you can call in but that is a lie. I have called so many times.....never an answer....

James, I felt the same way with Roboform. <a href="http://bigdan.us/computers/why-i-moved-from-keypass-to-lastpass.html" title="Why I moved from Keypass to LastPass" rel="nofollow">Lastpass</a> is 100% free for desktop use with a pittance upsell for mobile use.

I feel ripped off. I paid lifetime a about 2 years ago. I thought lifetime mean forever, apparently it was for the lifetime of the version. If switch back to your old version and have a lifetime licence it will still work, however the "enhancements" for browser snap in and such will not, but you really don't need them. Next time they ask for money, I'll go with something else like keepass.

Thanks for stopping by Tom. I have no Android devices to test with or else I'd play around with it. There is a Lastpass plugin for Firefox mobile. I'm don't know if that runs on Andrioid or what but maybe that helps some?

As much as I embrace Keepass, I had much empathy for your angst with its browser integration. I still use Roboform on the PC, and I keep my screensaver on a short timeout to prevent unauthorized use of everything rather than just protect my passwords. However every time I create a new password on a site in Roboform, I have to manually replicate it again in Keepass. Once a day Keepass syncs to my S3 CLoud Drive, and then Folder Sync updates it on my Android device. As soon as I read your post I proceeded to the ANdroid Market. It seems that there are leagues of Android users not very happy with it. Some are astute enough to make the observation that it seems that the fault at the heart of many of the complaints lay with the constrictions imposed by the Android OS and not the Dev's of LastPass. There is one review posted Dec 7 by 'Kay.One' that seems to be comprehensive enough that I changed my mind about adopting it for Android for the time being anyway. I appears you can mitigate some of the pain of using their required proprietary browser (a restriction imposed by Android OS) by using their Dolphin plugin, but I'm not a huge fan of Dolphin either, and being shoehorned into these two options gives me some trepidation as well. I'm looking forward to seeing what others have to say about the Android specific aspects and hope that Android listens up and improves things in future.
